Longwy. Venetian Carnival: “It’s always the same wonder”

Nearly 150 costumed carnival-goers from the Grand Est region, as well as from Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany, will parade through Place Darche this Sunday, May 11. Numerous activities, such as flag-waving, a horse-drawn carriage ride, and a period photoshoot, are planned to brighten up the day.

Coming from Frankfurt and Brussels, Barbara and Lucas wouldn't miss the Longwy Venetian Carnival for anything in the world: "We've been coming for five years and it's always the same wonder. The costumes are more and more remarkable. For us, it's the biggest cross-border event." The same goes for Henriette, 82, who lives on Place Darche in Longwy: "All I have to do is open my window to discover a magical and ephemeral spectacle."
